Hi. I’m Cherie - Here to bring your printing dreams to life!
One day a few years ago in the midst of covid, I ran across a video of a lady who was printing such beautiful things on a platen press (but I didn’t know that at the time.) incidentally she was letterpress printing. I was immediately intrigued! I just had to know what she was doing! I only had to do a bit of research before I realized that was the job I had been looking for. After weeks of research and budgeting and searching I found my very own Chandler and Price platen press in Omaha, Nebraska. It was love at first sight! I knew this press was for me! So, Cache Letterpress was born!
Now, how I decided to name my business Cache (kash) Letterpress. There is a river that begins high in the peaks of the Rocky Mountains, it tumbles down the slopes of the front range and meanders through northern Colorado. This river is named the Cache la Poudre River. I’ve often sat on the banks of the Poudre River with a picnic lunch, fished in its depths or camped by the rushing water. I wanted to give my brand and customers the gift of the simplicity of mountain air, crystal clear dancing water, and birds chirping overhead. Therefore, Cache Letterpress.
God created a beautiful world for us as His children, I believe he absolutely loves to see us enjoy His creation and to do our part to keep the beauty alive. As a pressman and a designer, it is my pleasure to be able to make beautiful things and make people happy. I’ve worked hard to improve my craft to the best of my knowledge. It is my biggest joy to be privileged enough to work hands-on with such a vintage machine and messy ink.
ASLAN
My dear Aslan, how many beautiful projects we’ve worked on together and hopefully many more to come! Many impressive wedding invitations we have printed together and even a suite for a destination wedding in Italy! How cool is that?
My press Aslan was built in approximately 1906, and he weighs about 1,200 pounds. Certainly not an easy thing to move around! Trust my husband, he definitely knows… I somehow manage to make myself scarce because my anxiety would soar through the roof!!!
Aslan temporarily resides in my garage, together with messy ink, lead type, many spacers and my newest addition Lucy! Both of my printing presses are named after characters of the Narnia book series! I have always admired the British author C.S. Lewis, and the many wonderful books he has written. As a small child I remember my dear mum reading the tales of Peter, Edmond, Susan, and Lucy and of course Aslan the Lion! I was thoroughly enthralled then, and I still am!
And our newest addition: Lucy
I’m so excited to be able to offer foil printing! She doesn’t print a very big radius only 2”x3'“ but does an absolutely stunning job! We are so so ecstatic to print more gorgeous products on little Lucy!!!!
